Margarete Koehler Bittkow
The oeurve of Margarete Koehler-Bittkow spans much of the 20th Century and is informed by the time she spent at the renowned Bauhaus School where she worked with the likes of Lyonel Feininger and Paul Kell. Throughout this body of work there is present a diversity of mark making techniques within a unity of artistic philosophy. The works of Koehler-Bittkow represent the life of a woman artist who was witness to, and participant in, the art world in Germany and America for the greater part of the 20th century.
