For the past twenty-two years Bert Gallery has concentrated on promoting visual artists from Rhode Island. The struggle of the creative soul to seek recognition has been the topic of many a book over the centuries. While Bert Gallery continues to concentrate on its mission of documenting and showcasing those Rhode Island artists of the 19th century, a selective collection of accomplished contemporary Rhode Island artists are also in inventory at the gallery.
The Rhode Island School of Design, remains the most applied to art school in the country attracting many artists to Providence. Through the decades generations of artists have mentored younger painters making this little state a significant creative resource. The gallery is pleased to represent some of those very many talented artists in Rhode Island.
On occasion the gallery has small collections of paintings that deserve special attention. This section of the website will not only feature contemporary artists but some works that naturally relate to each other.
