Ruth Forrest
The Elephant and the Kangaroo
Ruth Forrest was a native Rhode Island artist who graduated from the
Rhode Island School of Design in the 1940’s. Upon graduation she
accepted a teaching position in the Cranston School Department where
she remained for 38 years as an art instructor. A versatile artist,
she is best know for her works on paper. Her work has been exhibited
throughout the East Coast in juried exhibitions, including the Art Association
of Newport, Northeast printmakers Association, the Print Club of Philadelphia
and the International Printmakers. She studied under Eliza Gardiner
and was a member of the Providence Art Club.
