What is Egg Tempera?
Hosted by Frank Gasbarro & Kathy Hodge
In conjunction with the current Bert Gallery exhibit, The Magical Realism of Louise Marianetti (1916-2009).
Veteran RI artists Frank Gasbarro and Kathy Hodge work with artist Louise Marianetti’s original materials and egg tempera formula in a painting demonstration. The demonstration will show what the properties are of the medium that made it so popular in Renaissance times, why it stirred a revival in American art in the 1940s and who still uses it today.
Also: New Review: Art New England March/April review of the Louise Marianetti exhibit. And – don’t miss the opening of Gallery Night Providence’s 15th Anniversary Season on Thursday March 17th.
