1933 Bourne Bridge, Passage to Provincetown

1933 Bourne Bridge, Passage to Provincetown

As I drove across the glorious Bourne Bridge this morning the sign – built 1933 – 1935 made me marvel at what an engineering and aesthetic feat for that time.

I thought of how so many of the Providence artists in the gallery crossed over this very same bridge – whether it be Gordon Peers, Florence Leif, John Frazier or Edgar Corbridge to head to Truro and Provincetown to paint for the summer.

Stop by the gallery and see these artists who crossed the bridge to paint.
