Women artists: 1920’s

Women artists: 1920’s

In the 1920’s when Nancy Prophet (1890 – 1960) was struggling in Paris sculpting her powerful and universal portrait sculptures – other women artists like Marion Stokes (1855-1927) were trying to sustain their careers with these delicate watercolor portrait studies for British society patrons.

Both women would go on to be known for their artistic accomplishments by later art historians.
